Private Minecraft build-revision utility

Minecraft Schematic Material Delta & Procurement Planner

Compare an earlier build with its target revision, then take only the added blocks to your supply room. Or load one target schematic for a complete material list.

Two-file comparison or one-file inventory

Choose your build files

1. Baseline (optional)

The earlier revision. Its materials are subtracted from the target.

No baseline selected.

2. Target required

The revision you intend to build, or the only file for a full bill of materials.

No target selected.

Per-file limit: 64 MiB compressed; 192 MiB expanded; 16 million declared block positions. gzip is detected from file bytes. No upload, account, mod, or npm library is used.

Choose a target file, or compare a baseline and target.

Local by design: schematic bytes, block IDs, properties, filenames, and reports stay in this browser tab. ToolQuill does not upload or send them.

What this schematic comparison reads

The parser reads gzip or raw named-binary-tag data and recognizes Litematica region palettes with packed long arrays, Sponge schematic v2/v3 palettes with VarInt block data, and vanilla Java structure palettes and block lists. It counts exact block states first, excludes air from materials, then groups properties under the base names used in the procurement table.

Why compare revisions instead of two totals?

A full material list answers “what is in the target?” This page also answers “what did the revision add?” For each grouped block ID, target count minus baseline count is the delta. Only a positive delta becomes a procurement amount; reductions remain visible so a redesign cannot be mistaken for missing inventory.

Stacks and boxes are planning units

Each material is rounded to its own occupied stack before stack slots are pooled into boxes. The default 64-item stack and 27-slot box are editable assumptions. This tool does not maintain a version-specific Minecraft item registry, so verify materials that stack to 16, 1, or a modified limit. Dedicated boxes round each material separately; pooled boxes allow different materials to occupy different slots in the same box.

Interpretation boundary

This is not a 3D viewer, placement verifier, crafting calculator, or format converter. It does not inspect the world you have already built, calculate ingredient recipes or substitutions, count items inside block entities, preserve entities for export, validate every application-specific extension, or guarantee that another mod can open a file. Negative region sizes are treated as absolute dimensions for counting.

Format references

The Litematica project is the source implementation for its multi-region format. The Sponge schematic specification documents its palette and storage versions; version 3 is the current published revision. Use the originating mod or WorldEdit-compatible software for authoritative import and placement checks.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use only one file?

Yes. Leave the baseline empty and the entire non-air target inventory becomes the procurement list.

Why are several block states grouped together?

Facing, axis, waterlogged, and similar properties matter to placement but usually refer to the same item to procure. The exact-state table preserves that evidence alongside the grouped total.

Does “pooled boxes” mean unlike blocks share a stack?

No. Every material is rounded to its own occupied stacks first. Pooling only allows those separate stacks to use free slots in the same box.

Does the checklist include recipe ingredients?

No. It reports placed block IDs. Stairs, slabs, redstone components, and crafted decorative blocks are not expanded into raw recipe ingredients.
