Plan a 32 mm cabinet drilling layout
Enter finished side-panel and door dimensions, front and rear row setbacks, the first row hole and the bottom exclusion. The generator advances vertically in fixed 32 mm steps. A 704 mm panel starting at 32 mm with a 32 mm bottom exclusion has 21 positions per row, ending at 672 mm. The teaching values illustrate geometry; actual hardware may require a different setback, bore diameter or depth.
Cup center distance is cup gap + diameter/2. A 35 mm cup with a 4 mm gap has its center 21.5 mm from the hinge edge. Mounting-plate pairs lie on the front side row, centered at the mapped hinge height. Optional snapping moves each center to a pair of consecutive row holes; it does not calculate inset/overlay geometry, reveal, mounting-plate height or the appropriate front setback.
Review mirrored holes before drilling
Left and right refer to the view straight at the boring face, top edge up. Right layouts change X to part width minus X; they keep Y and blind depth. The door uses its own width and the cabinet side uses its depth. Check the physical face and front or hinge edge before transferring marks. Runner CSV positions refer to the left side layout and inherit the same mirror.
Edge crossings, overlapping bore circles and blind depths reaching the panel thickness block template exports. Compatible coincident circles merge while retaining every role and source; different diameter or depth at the same point needs a revised plan. A minimum web threshold produces review warnings. These checks exclude drill point extension, material strength, angled drilling, toolpaths, hinge loads, joint details, slide clearances and assembled hinge/door motion.
Supported formats and actual-size printing
Planner version cabinet-boring-1 accepts decimal millimetre settings and the bounded runner CSV described above. Dimensioned SVG has physical mm sizes and hole center marks. ASCII DXF R12 contains circle and line geometry plus size and per-hole depth annotations; configure your importer to millimetres and verify overall dimensions. CSV is UTF-8 with formula-neutralized text and complete provenance. JSON retains settings, original runner CSV, both mirrored layouts, hinge shifts and explained findings. Review HTML and its PDF printout scale diagrams to fit.
The separate 1:1 template uses fixed mm SVGs tiled on A4 or Letter with 5–20 mm overlap and at most 120 pattern tiles. It includes a calibration sheet and numbered assembly map. Print at Actual size / 100%, disable Fit/Shrink, duplex and headers/footers, then measure the 50 mm square in both directions. Align overlapping holes and borders before using the pattern. The application cannot control your print driver or certify physical output.
Frequently asked questions
What does 32 mm mean in this layout?
It is the exact vertical center-to-center pitch of the side-panel rows. The often-used 37 mm front setback and 35 mm cup diameter are editable examples, not universal hardware requirements.
How does mounting-plate snapping work?
With 32 mm plate spacing, the planner snaps each requested hinge center to the nearest midpoint of two consecutive front-row holes. It chooses the pair nearer the top on a tie and keeps both holes inside the declared row span. The actual door and side center positions and every shift are reported.
Does the right layout mirror the door and the cabinet side?
Yes. Each separate part reflects X to its own width minus X. Y and depth stay the same. Look at the boring face with the top edge up; confirm the physical part and hinge edge before marking it.
Can I print these templates at actual size?
The separate tiled template has fixed millimetre SVG sizes, A4 or Letter paper, a 50 mm calibration square and an assembly map. Print at 100% or Actual size, disable Fit/Shrink and headers/footers, and measure the square in both directions. The ordinary review report is scaled to fit.
Will this choose the correct hardware or drill my cabinet?
It generates a geometry review and does not choose hinges, slides, overlay/inset geometry or hinge load ratings. Verify the manufacturer drawing, boring face, material, drill point and depth stops. No CNC code is generated and no machine is contacted.
