What the auditor checks
The parser keeps FILE and TRACK context, requires a valid INDEX 01 for each track, checks track and index ordering, validates MM:SS:FF values at 75 frames per second, distinguishes stored INDEX 00 audio from a generated PREGAP, and reports duplicate tracks, duplicate indexes, impossible timestamps, and commands it does not interpret.
How asset resolution works
Choose files or a folder to create an explicit local inventory. Exact relative paths are preferred. A case-only match is flagged because it can work on one filesystem and fail on another; a unique-basename match is also only advisory. The portable download changes FILE lines that resolve to selected assets and leaves all other lines unchanged.
Duration evidence
WAVE duration is derived from the declared data size and block alignment, AIFF/AIFC duration from the COMM sample-frame count and sample rate, and FLAC duration from STREAMINFO total samples and sample rate. Unsupported formats remain in the reference audit with unknown duration instead of being guessed.
Validation boundary
A clean result means only that the selected sheet and readable headers passed the checks implemented here. CUE is an ecosystem format with application-specific extensions. The auditor does not certify Red Book conformance, inspect unselected files, decode compressed frames, confirm audio content, or promise identical behavior in every ripper, player, burner, or emulator.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a reference marked unchecked?
The browser cannot browse your disk from a pasted path. Select the referenced files or their folder to distinguish missing, case-mismatched, ambiguous, and resolved paths.
Why can INDEX 00 and PREGAP produce a warning?
INDEX 00 identifies audio stored before INDEX 01, while PREGAP describes a generated gap. Both can be intentional, but using both can also double-count the intended pause.
Does the portable download edit timing?
No. It only rewrites resolvable FILE paths with selected path spelling and forward slashes. Timing, metadata, comments, and unsupported commands remain unchanged.
Format references
The CDRWin manual describes CUE sheets as instruction sequences for files, track starts, indexes, gaps, and CD text. Microsoft's RIFF overview documents chunk IDs, sizes, and padding. Xiph's FLAC STREAMINFO reference identifies sample rate, channels, bit depth, and total samples. Apple's AIFF overview identifies the Common and Sound Data chunks.
